Trends and Attitudes Toward Prescribing Hormone Replacement Therapy During Menopause in Korea The Study Group for Menopause







Abstract
Objectives: To describe and compare trends and attitudes concerning the prescription of hormone replacement therapy among members of Korean Society of Menopause.
Methods: In a cross- sectional study in members of Korean Society of Menopause were asked to complete and return an enclosed questionnaires.
Results: 94% of clinicians preferred oral route for HRT. For women with an intact uterus, 74.1 % of cilinicians prescribed continuous combined HRT with estrogen and progestogen. For hysterectomized women, 84.6% of the clinician prescribed estrogen only.
Conclusions: Most Members of Korean Society of Menopause preferred oral HRT. For women with an intact uterus, the preferred regimen was continuous combined HRT with estrogen and progestogen. For hysterectomized women, most of the clinician prescribed estrogen only. Korean Society of Manopause members are generally informed concerning HRT.
